BOOK REVIEW: NOW AND FOREVER BY DANIELLE STEEL

The protagonist of the book Jessica has been married to Ian Clarke for 7 years. Within that time Jessica has convinved Ian to quit his advertising Job and focus on his writing, while she supports him with her successful Boutique located in San Francisco. During this time Jessica travels for her business and Ian struggles with his lack of independence so much that he cheats on her. Her last business trip to New York, he holds out until the last day of the trip, but has a few too many drinks and end up cheating on her. This time though it becomes futile to their relationship.

After this Jessica and Ian's relationship goes through the test of times. You see how vile both characters are to each other. You see how communication has been thrown out the window and each burries their real feelings, until that inevitable moment that everything spills out. Jessica is seen to be so dependent on Ian beacuse of the misfortunes of her family.

I enjoyed the fact that this incident helped Jessica to some what find herself and for the characters to actually get the feelings out in the open. My disappointment was in how the book ended. Yes I know most people love a happy ending, but sometimes it seems too unrealistic, and in this case it felt so to me. I felt that if she had truely discovered herself she would have given herself some more time to process what she was really like and wanted from life.

Definitely not one of Danielle Steel's best work, to me anyway, but there were some twist to the story that I really enjoyed.
