SKINCARE DON'TS
1. DON'T use after expiration date
When you use expired products it invites unwanted bacteria and germs onto your skin. The expiration date tells you when the product would lose its potency.
2. DON'T use PM products during the AM
The ingredients in Pm products are more than likely those that work better during darkness and the PM hours. Also, some ingredients make you more sensitive to the effects of the aun, thus these should only be used at night time.
3. DON'T use hot/scalding water
Water Should be luke warm to warm when using on the skin. Excessively hot water steeps the skin of its natural oils. It is known that with warm water the cleanser gets rid of waste, but ensure that it is not over a suitable temperature so that damage is not caused to the skin.
4. DON'T apply body creams to the face
Body creams are most often formulated with ingredients that are too thick and moisturizing for the skin on the face which is thinner and delicate. It is recommended that you nourish and treat your skin with the correct products formulated for the targeted area.
5. DON'T forget SPF
SPF is essential for everyday. It helps prevent many skin problems later in life. Fine lines, dark spots, pigmentation and many skincare concerns can be avoided by wearing SPF daily.
6. DON'T layer incorrectly
Wrong layering can decrease the efficacy of products. Apply the light weight products first so that absorption is easier. After each layer give the skin a minute to absorb the product.
7. DON'T share products
It is difficult on its own to keep skincare products clean and fresh. Sharing products increases the risk of the product being exposed to germs and bacteria.
8. DON'T use too much heavy moisturizer
Heavy creams sit on the surface of the skin and results in blocked pores. Instead use creams that are lighter and more easlily absorbed.
9. DON'T ignore skin type
Try as best as you can to use skincare products that are formulated and carded for your skin type. This tends to be more effective.
10. DON'T pick
Picking at pimples and blackheads can result in scarring and infection. Use products formulated to treat these instead.
